Born in Liverpool, England in October 9th of 1940 to be a successful musician, a singer songwriter known as John Lennon and an important person whom formed a famous UK band called "The Beatles".
"You have to be a bastard to make it, and that's a fact. And the Beatles are the biggest bastards on earth."
I do believe what he meant by the words is that to be success you first need to believe that you can do it and that's how the Beatles did it. And I do think they believe they could success in the industry even they were rejected by companies that believed their music had no future. But it is a fact that they were the most successful band in history. Before Lennon debut as a singer, everybody including his own family said he would never make a living out of music.
Using the popularity he had made with the band he promoted the world peace and knows as the leader of a revolution which the centre of creative conscious shifted to young people. Till today his name is attached to many causes that promoting world peace to this day.The most famous songs that could relate to the peace making is of course "Give Peace A Chance" and the song "Imagine". The lyrics encourage people to imagine world at peace without barriers and human should be living their life unattached to materials.
Beside promoting world peace, Lennon also changed people's perception in pop music at that time when people were still stuck to the twist.
"Surrealism had a great effect on me because then I realised that the imagery in my mind wasn't insanity. Surrealism to me is reality."
His spiritual vision is the proof of his uniqueness in his own way. In the song "Strawberry Fields Forever" we can actually see how he expressed the surrealism in the lyrics and I honestly could imagine such surrealism world inside my head like I ever seen it before. Though there are some opinion said the song written to express the world to him while he was under drugs, I still think that he had a good way in expressing his surrealist mind.
His creative mind is the main reason why I picked him as my idol. I want to think differently and make people accept my thought over something even if it is something that doesn't make sense. It isn't easy to influence people with our words but he made it looks easy in a creative way.
